I was born with a condition often mistaken for spina bifida, called
diastematomyelia. I was wondering if anyone else has this disease, and
what you are doing to cope with it and it's effects on you.
I've found that due to it, I have a variety of health issues, ranging from
headaches, back pain, neuritis, fibromyalgia, various foot deformities,
metatarsalgia, foot ulcers, reduced/absent reflexes, slowly worsening
dental health (odd that it's related but true), arachnoiditis, tremors,
sleep problems, and other problems, ranging from arthritis, bone density
loss in my vertebrae, a narrowing of my veterbral foramen, and mild fusing
of my vertebrae.
If anyone has any tips on how to manage this, I'd appreciate hearing from
you. I have small children that I would like to be able to do more with,
and I also have a high tolerance to medications. I've been on tylenol 3
with codeine, buprenophine patches, duragesic patches, amitriptyline,
oxycodone, bextra, others I don't remember, and am currently on neurontin
and nortriptyline, but I am finding no relief with them.
Thanks,
leigha

I don't have what you have but I feel your pain! Do you take any vitamins or
mineral supplements?

For the physical back pain I use a method -- is called hypnotism! I took a
hypnotism class at UCLA Extension! The class taught me how to hypnotize myself
and NO I do not use pills! I do not like feeling stupid. Am stupid enough, I
don't need to feel any stupider than I already am. I can make the pain go away
using my very own belief system.

Will it work for you! -- It works for me!
